Order in the Kitchen!

With their self-service devices living in the front of the restaurants, Revi needed a back of house solution to facilitate order flow in the kitchen so that staff can easily make orders and let customers know that their food is ready.

CHALLENGE

Very low user adoption, less than 20% of partner businesses actively use the kitchen tablet.

When talking to restaurant owners and their staff it was clear that Revi’s old kitchen tablets were being overlooked for printed tickets. The kitchen staff also did not know about important features, like the ability to issue refunds or send receipts. Instead, they were writing down refunds for the owners to send to the Revi Customer Support team to handle.

This added an unnecessary weight on the support team, so we went to the drawing board to see how we could get kitchen staff to adopt our kitchen tablet.

 SOLUTION

A redesigned app that shows key information as it’s needed.

A straightforward and color-coded ticket system that shows the information staff need when they need it. We also included shortcuts to key features such as issuing refunds and marking items as in and out of stock.

This redesign paired with early employee training has increased the adoption of our kitchen tablet to above 80% and reduced customer support calls in regards to refunds and ticket issues significantly.
