Going from A to Z

A concept delivery vehicle for the largest delivery service in the world, Amazon.

We are looking at designing a delivery system catered to Amazon’s growing market presence. With last-mile delivery becoming an increasingly important priority, especially for the e-commerce giant, our solution provides a unique take on their Flex delivery system.

CHALLENGE

Current delivery solutions are not optimized for crowded streets in dense urban environments.

Delivery solutions for cities have not caught up with the demand, large trucks have the capacity for large packages, but are not eco-friendly and messenger bikes provide no weather protection with very limited cargo space.

Amazon has been testing the Flex program to deliver goods to their customers within 2 hours. Although Flex is a good program that crowd sources delivery drivers based on need, more vehicles on the road increase traffic and limit package quantity to the type of vehicle the deliverer drives. There is also a missing opportunity for Amazon to increase their brand awareness by having iconic delivery vehicles.

How can we make this solution iconic to amazon while solving the issues of traffic congestion and increasing delivery efficiency?

 SOLUTION

An Amazon delivery vehicle that can navigate efficiently through city streets.

Small enough to fit into a bike lane, but large enough to hold a good volume of packages. The unique wheel system of the vehicle allows drivers to make pivot turns if they are in tight corners.
